All students enrolled in the School of Health Professions at BryanLGH College of Health Sciences participate in unparalleled hands-on experience, completing 1260-1305 clinical hours by graduation, training with state-of-the-art equipment—including our Human/Patient Simulators and Skills Labs—studying with committed faculty and working alongside outstanding medical professionals at multiple urban acute-care facilities and selected specialty clinics, including the BryanLGH Medical Center—one of the most renowned healthcare organizations in the Midwest.

Associate of Science Degree in Adult Cardiac Sonography

Students earning an Associate of Science Degree in Adult Cardiac Sonography do more than learn how to create echocardiograms or ultrasound images of a patient’s heart. They also learn how to use medical technology in a way that helps physicians detect a variety of heart conditions—and help patients gain knowledge, comfort and peace of mind.

 

Students enrolled in this program complete 27 hours of General Education courses and 58 semester hours in the Adult Cardiac Sonography major. Graduates meet published requirements by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) to apply for the examination to become a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer.

Associate of Science Degree in Vascular Sonography

Students earning an Associate of Science Degree in Vascular Sonography use ultrasound to aid in diagnosing vascular disorders—including stroke. Working in cooperation with physicians in direct patient care environments, graduates become skilled at using imaging and non-imaging techniques to detect and address peripheral vascular disease and venous abnormalities.

 

Students enrolled in this program complete 27 hours of General Education courses and 58 semester hours in the Vascular Sonography major. Graduates of the program meet published requirements by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) to apply for the examination to become a Registered Vascular Technologist.

Associate of Science Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program

Ultrasound technology can be used to diagnose a range of significant health issues. It also provides the first crucial images of a developing fetus. Students earning an Associate of Science Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program study in the classroom and apply this knowledge in clinical settings to be a part of this exciting—and illuminating—healthcare field.

 

Students enrolled in this program complete 30 hours of General Education courses and 53 semester hours in the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program major. Graduates meet published requirements by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) to apply for the examination to become a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer.
