The Red Cross

Open to All Students

Do you want something impressive on your résumé?  Want to give back to the community?  Become a Red Cross Volunteer!! At a recent meeting held with the Lincoln Red Cross Association have identified more opportunities for student involvement!   To ensure all students who participate in helping with the Red Cross have the same knowledge base, students are being asked to attend a Basic First Aid class and become certified.  Karla Scholl will be the Basic First Aid Class Instructor, which will be offered here at the college.  Once you have completed this training, you will be eligible to help with the numerous activities through the Red Cross.  Two new activities include assisting in the First Aid Stations during home Nebraska Football games and teaching 4th graders the basics of Basic First Aid, both of which are very fun and a great learning experience.  Remember all it takes is 20 hours of volunteer hours to earn your Red Cross Nursing pin and you can continue to earn hours towards your pin after you graduate.
