Academic Counseling is a crucial part of the Student Success Center because it relates to the essential Mission of BryanLGH College of Health Sciences. The Academic Counseling Service provides support to students to improve their academic standing—including advice on how to manage their time, write or communicate more effectively, understand an assignment, or improve their study habits. Academic Counseling also offers a student consultant program that helps students increase their investment in the learning process.
Assistant Professor Jan Hartig coordinates the academic counseling offered through the Student Success Center, including the Early Intervention Process that evaluates academically at-risk students referred by faculty or by the students themselves. After the evaluation, services can be provided to assist in the learning process. Students are encouraged to stop by the Center for all kinds of academic counseling needs.
